This External Hard Drive Enclosure lets you install a 3.5in Serial ATA hard drive for connection to a computer using USB 2.0 - a cost-effective storage solution for a wide variety of applications including file and application sharing between desktop and notebook computers, data archiving, or simply backing up existing hard drives to preserve data security. Large capacity drives (tested with up to 4TB) can be used to greatly enhance your computer's storage/backup capabilities.
Designed with modern computer systems in mind, the external USB 2.0 SATA hard drive enclosure is compatible with the IT industry's newest 3.5in Serial ATA (SATA 150, SATA II/SATA 300) hard drives (up to 2 TB), and offers a sturdy and attractive aluminum casing that looks terrific next to any MAC or PC system.
The SATA hard drive enclosure is compatible with a broad range of operating systems, including Windows 98/ME/XP/Vista, Mac OS 9.0 and up, as well as Linux. Plus, the enclosure supports Apple's Mac OS X Leopard operating system, including its breakthrough automatic backup feature "Time Machine".
